In search of the northern lights
Viking ocean cruises

Depart from London England - Tilbury

Day 1

London.jpg

Board your ship and make yourself comfortable in your stateroom. Located on the northern bank of the Thames, Tilbury boasts a rich historical heritage. The town is renowned for its fortress, constructed by Henry VIII to protect London from naval invasions via the Thames. Further upriver lies London, a city marked by iconic landmarks of power and history—Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, and Westminster Abbey—where the destiny of the British Empire was shaped. Today, London flourishes as a hub of cultural and architectural innovation, featuring attractions like Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, the vibrant West End, Tower Bridge, and the London Eye.

Day 2

Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Amsterdam.jpg

Ijmuiden, a small port in North Holland, connects to Amsterdam via the North Sea Canal, just 11 miles away. Amsterdam’s charming canals, gabled houses, and world-class museums reflect its Dutch Golden Age legacy. The Rijksmuseum showcases masterpieces by Rembrandt and other renowned artists. Explore the city on foot, enjoy Dutch pancakes by the canals, or grab a stroopwafel to go.

Day 3

Sail the North Sea

Onboard, enjoy our curated Library in the Living Room’s cozy alcove, offering a wide selection of books. Relax with a good read by the Main Pool, a tranquil space with a retractable roof for year-round swimming.

Day 4

 Norwegian Inside Passage

The Norwegian Inside Passage is a sheltered shipping route stretching from Oslo, along the Skagerrak coast, around Norway’s southern tip, and north along the Norwegian Sea to Siberian waters. Used by mariners for centuries, it offers protection from open sea hazards with its skerries and provides natural shelter in its numerous bays and inlets.

Day 5

Narvik, Norway

Nestled on the inner shores of the Ofotfjorden within the Arctic Circle, Narvik boasts a stunning setting, surrounded by mountains and a glacier reaching the water’s edge. Once a Viking port, its history was transformed by the discovery of iron ore in nearby Kiruna, Sweden. To enable year-round shipping, a rail link was built to Narvik, which remains a key exporter to this day.

Visitors have long marveled at its cosmopolitan vibe amidst snowcapped Arctic mountains. By the 19th century, it became a hub for polar exploration, with crews often recruited here. Since the 1970s, efforts to preserve Sami traditions have ensured their cuisine and culture are cherished today.
