Polar travel is all about preparation. The right clothing and gear will keep you warm, dry, and comfortable in charging conditions.
I personally test the recommended the items I trust most based on years of exploring Antarctica and the Arctic. Pack smart-travel light-but never sacrifice comfort.

Merino thermal base layers
Fleece mid layers
Waterproof gloves
Merino wool socks
Beanies
Neck gaiter or balaclava
One-piece of bathing suite (polar plunge)
Dry storage backpack
Camera and wrist strap
Documents (passport, insurance, etc.)
Sunscreen, lip balm and moisturizer
Medication & blister pads

Layer thin. You can always add more.
Confirm what your cruise line provides so you don't overpack.
Boot room etiquette: be organized and respect other's space.
Be on time for zodiac departures- don't keep the group waiting!
Ask expedition staff to take the photos - they know the best spot.
Stay quiet and respectful around wildlife.
Use chapstick constantly- cold, wind, & sun are drying.
Bring glove clip or a small carabiner to keep gloves handy.
Use eye mask and earplugs for better sleep.
Do every landing- you never know what you'll discover.
Go early for the polar plunge- less crowded & more fun.
